Nancy Bernstein was born in southern Nevada. She is of Cuban descent and is a native Spanish speaker. Nancy attended Western High School in Las Vegas, and graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a double bachelor’s degree in English and communication studies with an emphasis in marketing, earning Dean’s List honors. After graduating from UNLV, she was President of Explosive Media where she produced award-winning television commercials in both English and Spanish.
Nancy attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas Boyd School of Law. She helped develop “Street Law,” an educational program for high school students teaching the fundamentals of law that relate to everyday lives. She excelled in Constitutional Law, Torts, Criminal Law, and Criminal Procedure.
After law school, Nancy clerked for District Court Judge Lee A. Gates for two years.
Nancy is very active in the Southern Nevada Hispanic community. She is a long-time member of the Latin Bar Association and is a supporter of the Latin Chamber of Commerce student scholarship program.
