Several members of the firm participated in the 5K Run For A Wish, which benefited the Southern Nevada chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Holiday Events & Initiatives
December 11, 2011

We kept busy during December by participating in the Las Vegas Great Santa Run, which benefits Opportunity Village. Our firm participated in the Zappos Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon and 1/2 Marathon, which benefits the Crohns & Colitis Foundation of America. We also collected presents to donate to the Salvation Army, which provides toys for underprivileged children.

Local Students Win Big in Richard Harris Law Firm’s Second Annual Distracted Driving Video Contest

We recently challenged area students to use their imaginations and create videos about the dangers of distracted driving during our second annual PSA contest. After receiving many outstanding entries, we’re pleased to announce the first place team as Brad Calder and Ron Paul Gavino, and the second place team as Chaz Clawson, Michael Grogitsky, and Joseph Bulloch. All the winning students came from the same broadcast journalism class taught by Vicki Steffenhagen at Palo Verde High School. Click here to watch all the entries.

This is our third year volunteering with Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada and its annual holiday dinner, and we're looking forward to providing this service again to our neighbors. Angel Tree: Deliver Love 2010
November 29 – December 7, 2010

This was the second year our law firm supported the Salvation Army with its Angel Tree program, which provides Christmas gifts to children of incarcerated parents. We had a tree in our lobby and invited employees and visitors to participate in this worthy cause. We actually collected so many gifts that the Salvation Army truck had to make several trips just to retrieve them all from our office! Click here for more

Richard Harris Receives 2010 Badger Award
October 16, 2010

Attorney Richard Harris was awarded this year’s prestigious Badger Award during the annual Nevada Justice Association convention. Named after Raymond L. Badger, Jr., the first recipient of the award in 1987, this award is reserved for attorneys who most exemplify and promote the mission of the NJA: to continually provide its membership with up-to-date knowledge and information through continuing legal education programs and Nevada specific publications; to monitor the legislative session to ensure Nevadans’ access to the courts is not diminished; and to educate the public regarding their individual rights and responsibilities as citizens.

We helped raise money and awareness for Susan G. Komen for the Cure at Ricardo’s of Las Vegas restaurant! Our team, the Breast Buddies, competed in a taco-eating contest against teams from the UFC and the Las Vegas Fire Department. Throwing back an impressive 53 tacos, our team came in third place out of nine teams. Ricardo’s also beat the world record for creating the world’s largest margarita, which topped out at 7,500 gallons! Click here for more photos.

Richard Harris Law Firm Creates International Partnership with DÉCOR S.C.
July 30, 2010

The Richard Harris Law Firm is excited to announce its international partnership with DÉCOR S.C., an organization dedicated to assisting and helping in the development of rural and social communities in Guatemala. DÉCOR actively contributes to the processes related to community projects and development by retraining the rural and agricultural population, educating families in urban areas on new processes, and helping families in rural areas become self sufficient.

The firm’s International Projects Director, Addin Robles, will oversee the partnership and work directly with Richard Harris Law Firm and DÉCOR to oversee the philanthropic and community projects in Guatemala. This partnership encompasses many of the firm’s community initiatives, fulfilling the firm’s purpose and mission of helping others.

Operation DVD
May 6, 2010

Richard Harris Law Firm is on a mission to collect new and used DVDs for soldiers. In honor of Armed Forces Day on May 15 and Memorial Day on May 31, the law firm is teaming up with Soldiers and Families First, a nonprofit organization that provides assistance to military members and their families, to sponsor a DVD drive.

The firm's goal is to collect new or used DVDs for soldiers who are stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan and lack safe entertainment options. According to AMVETS, even traditional activities such as baseball and softball are at high risk due to the possible dangers of IEDs, snipers, mines, bombs, among others. That's why a movie is a great diversion for soldiers who are under tremendous stress or have been stationed in remote locations for weeks at time.

He focused on the importance of customer service and cited cases where physicians made medical mistakes, but never took the time to explain these mistakes to patients. Harris also cleared up misconceptions about medical malpractice clients who are portrayed in the media as wanting to make a quick buck.
